about me
Hi! My name is Ren Q. Dawe (he/they). I am a trans activist, stand-up comedian, writer, and educator.

I’ve performed across the country, I've been seen in comedy festivals from Portland to New York to New Orleans to Alaska. My work has been featured on tv and radio, and received acclaim during my first national tour, the "Pretty, Witty, & Gay Show" in 2024.
I was awarded for my comedic work at Pack Hollywood Comedy Festival and have

Currently, I’m organizing the "Here to Pee" campaign—a groundbreaking comedy tour featuring an all-trans lineup visiting all 50 states. This tour is meant as both a playful act of civil disobedience and a powerful statement on the dignity and rights of trans individuals. In addition to stand-up performances, the campaign seeks to raise funds for local LGBTQ+ nonprofits, foster community resilience, and amplify the voices of trans people nationwide. As part of the campaign, we’re also documenting the tour to share its impact far and wide with award-winning documentarian Jeff Stonic.
If you want to support our effort, and help us raise money for the dozens of non-profits we've partnered with all over the country, you can donate to our cause here.

In my professional work, I serve as the Education and Programs Director for the You Can Play Project, where I design training materials and consult on inclusive policy for major sports leagues across North America to ensure LGBTQ+ athletes and fans are safe and supported.

I’ve also had the honor of teaching education policy, universal design, and LGBTQ+ inclusion at multiple institutions including edX, Rocky Mountain Equality, PowerToFly, Big Panda, and Columbia University’s Teachers College. Using accessible learning platforms and a touch of humor, I’ve empowered teams to embrace diversity and build more inclusive cultures, processes, and policies.

I'm a writer and published poet, contributing to the academic discourse on trans identities with pieces such as my contributions to the The Currere Exchange. My poetry collection "Old Gold" was also a #1 Best Seller on Amazon in LGBTQ+ literature.

On the side, I’m a yoga teacher, whitewater raft guide, burlesque dancer, and a pro home cook.
